Simon Says, "Just Tell"  introduces Simon, a special puppet friend and hero,
who serves as an inner voice and conscience and gives children the guidance
and strength to do the right thing when a potentially dangerous situation occurs. Simon and his puppet friends are the core of this three-part child abuse
prevention program that informs teachers and counselors, educates children
and establishes a safety-net to ensure that each disclosing child is
professionally treated and properly referred.

          Scenes from the show

Lori with Simon in her Bedroom
Simon gives Lori advice in how to stop
PaPa Bill from sexually abusing her.

Lori: (lying on her bed, crying) I feel awful, I feel dirty, I don't know what to do, I feel like it's all my fault,  Will Pappa Bill go to jail?

Simon:  It's not your fault, Lori.  Pappa Bill is a grown up and has to take responsibility for his actions.  You need to tell someone!

Lori: But who can I tell?

Simon:  You can tell your parents, a policeman, your school guidance counselor or nurse; you could even tell your teacher.

Lori: But how would I tell, I wouldn't know what to say!

Simon:  Well, you could write her a letter or draw a picture.

Lori: That's a good idea, I love drawing pictures!

Chante with her Teacher
Chante gives her teacher a drawing, which
shows that someone in Chante's family
has been sexually abusing her.

Teacher: Chante, would you like to tell me about the man in the picture?

Chante:  Oh, Mrs. Lopez, there's someone in my family who does things to me and I don't like it.  He always wants me to play ‘secret games'.  But sometimes he's so nice and I like him, he brings me presents and takes me to nice places.

Teacher:  What do you mean, ‘secret games'?  What kind of ‘secret games'?

Chante: I don't know, I mean, he touches me in places I don't like.

Teacher:  Well, Chante, you were right to tell me and we need to talk to a social worker; in fact there's one here in school today,  Let's go talk to her, right now!

Malcom with Simon at Food Mart
Simon tells Malcom how proud he is of him for not going home with the stranger who tempted Malcom with candy. Malcom scared the stranger away by asking her for his mother's secret password.

Simon:  That was a smart thing you did with that stranger, Doug.  You did good, I just wanted to make sure you were safe!

Doug:  Yeah, I know!  She didn't even know the secret word!

Simon: You got it right, kiddo!  Your sister's on her way out of the store and I'm outa here!  Later, Dude!
